An independent test application used to study how Google Account permission notifications display application names and website addresses. This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
The app uses Google OAuth to request permission from researcher-controlled test accounts. Testing compares consent screens, granted permissions, and notification emails.
Tests may also authenticate to Gmail over IMAP and disconnect without reading messages. The site itself does not provide a sign-in form or collect Google passwords.
Depending on the experiment, the app may request:
Basic profile and email address.
Read-only Google Drive metadata.
Gmail read and send permissions.
Full Gmail access for IMAP authentication testing.
Some permissions allow more access than the tests exercise. The current tests do not send or delete email or retrieve mailbox contents.
You can revoke the app’s permissions through Google Account third-party connections.
